Due up next: User created season files

Working on a system to allow users to create league (aka season) files and upload them here.

These league files will work with BOTH “EWB Baseball” (iPhone) and “I Got it Baseball” (igiBall) for Windows.

Users can create league files by using igiBall which can be downloaded here: bangbangplay.com for free.

  • This would be so amazing I can’t even explain it. Really looking forward to this.

Just curious about the technical aspects… how would one get these league files to their iPhone? Would there be something in the iPhone app that lets you browse and download files directly within EWB Baseball?

    Thanks!

Yes, in the next release AFTER the one Apple is evaluating now, there will be the ability to look for and download stats from this site.. right from the iPhone.

    Adam,
Didn’t you mention that you had a tool that would allow league file work without going through the igi interface? I’d love a tool that would let me import stats via Excel or CSV format. . .I could create lots of seasons really fast that way.
    Hoping,
    Jay

Just in case there is some confusion. I did not read anything about a tool here, so you may be referring to my software I once programmed. I used it several times to create some seasons for EWB 1.5 for PC.

Though I wished I had it programmed a little better for others to use, but on the other side, if you know some basics about computers and are willing to try it out, you can download it at http://www.jtc-ufo.com/ewb

Also, if I remember correctly, you can convert EWB 1.5 seasons into EWB II stats format with “EWB2Conv.exe”, available at http://www.dombrower.com/EWBSupport

Couldn’t you load EWB II leagues into IgiBall and then save it as an IgiBall league?

  • When I was a kid, I made a team of all my buddies and put us up against the ’61 Yanks, ’27 Yanks, other greats. I’m kinda looking forward to doing that again. 🙂

Does anyone see how to import the EWB2 league format into igiball? I’ve looked and looked but see nothing.

Put them in the stats folder of igiball, start igiball –> change league –> select “EWB II Baseball League File” in drop down menu –> open!
      Actually quite easy…

Wow–what great tools you made danielgue! I created a 1980 season file in about 45 minutes this afternoon. I can’t wait to tweak it with the EWB iphone game. . .

Does anyone know of an NCAA season file?

  • jaywigley

No, I haven’t seen one, but there’s always the option of entering stats yourself directly into EWB2 using the Commissioner’s Disk.

It is upcoming features like this that continually demonstrate why EWB is the best baseball simulator on the iPhone. This is the real Baseball Superstar in the App store.
