By Eddie D., on April 17th, 2009 I’ve submitted 1.0.3 to the app store…
Most of the reported bugs are addressed and I appreciate all the help and good wishes (several vociferous nay-sayers out there, but you folks here have been really helpful with both positive feedback and constructive criticism.
Next up: Season play (including managing/playing YOUR team) and downloadable stats/seasons.
By Eddie D., on April 8th, 2009 I’ve dropped version 1.0.3 into testing… here’s the highlights!
- Bullpen works!
- LOTS of reports (both accumulated and historical)
- Check stats during game freeze – FIXED
- ballpark rendering errors fixed
- team names fixed
- defense incomplete/injured player replacement bug fixed
- improved page titling on lineups (tells you which team is up/in the field)
- bugs fixed (see THE BUG LIST page link at the top of the page)
By Eddie D., on April 6th, 2009 So, everyone can keep track of any issues and when they might be resolved… Link is at the top of the page. After adding the REPORT A BUG link (up top), I felt this would help… Also, should help deal with those that keep saying things in reviews like “lots of bugs” yet never enumerate them. There have been lots of helpful folks submitting bugs and I’ll be dealing with them as quickly as I can find them!
By Eddie D., on April 2nd, 2009 The product’s first update is out. Still a few vociferous nay-sayers out there…complaining about bugs… but with no detail (not very helpful!)… bugs reported here I’m dealing with (or have dealt with)… and, as I’ve said, with enough overall interest, I’ll continue to plug away at implementing the still-unexposed features of the engine and, eventually, update the graphics. The simulation comes first though!
Here’s what’s new:
- – Full League (Round Robin) Schedule
- – Reports for accumulated stats
- – Individual Player Stats details are view-able on the players.. click on a player name in the lineup..you’ll see a STATS button under their name…
- – Frame rate is a bit faster
- – Check pitchers from CALL PLAYS menu (see if the catcher agrees with the pitcher’s self-assessment!)
- – Pitcher count displays when you change pitchers in mid-game
- – If you go to the lineup from the CALL PLAYS menu, you RETURN there after you’re done with your lineup
- – REDUCED the memory footprint pretty significantly and improved memory management
- – SAVE and RESUME games (SAVE from the QUIT/PAUSE button in the game, RESUME from the COMMISSIONER’S MENU)
- – Updated score line at top of screen
- – Manual/help updated at www.ewbbaseball.com/iphone-manual/
By Eddie D., on March 28th, 2009 I’ve updated the “manual” or help section on the site with information on:
- The lineup screen
- Action mode
- Seeing stats (in version 1.0.2 which we’re still waiting for Apple to release)

It’s here: http://ewbbaseball.com/iphone-manual/
By Eddie D., on March 25th, 2009 OK.. I figured out where, and how, to reset the status of the App so it will support 1st generation devices…. I’ve submitted to the store and we’ll have to see how long before it shows up.
If you’ve been getting the message “Not compatible” or some such, I would recommend re-downloading the App once this information is corrected on the App store listing… (you can say BUY again and it won’t charge you to download it.. it didn’t for me).
By Eddie D., on March 25th, 2009 Thanks for all the feedback (positive and negative).. it’s really been useful as I try to get a quick update out. We’ll see how long it takes to get the update through the process…
Here’s what’s new:
- Round Robin now plays all teams approx. equally to 162 games
- Reports are starting to be implemented… accumulated standings, batting and pitching reports now work.
- Stats details are view-able on the players.. click on a player name in the lineup and you’ll see a STATS button under their name…I have to fix the orientation of the display..but it’s a start!
- Graphics should be a bit faster
- Should run on 1st Gen devices… I cannot find any information as to this my app is tagged as requiring a 2nd gen device!
- Can now check pitchers from CALL PLAYS menu
- Fixed pitcher count display when you change pitchers in mid-game
- If you go to the lineup from the CALL PLAYS menu, you RETURN there after you’re done with your lineup
- REDUCED the memory footprint pretty significantly… should help with memory-related crashed (please let me know about any crashes)
- Can now SAVE and RESUME a game (SAVE from the QUIT/PAUSE button in the game, RESUME from the COMMISSIONER’S MENU)
- Updated score line at top of screen (so you can always see who’s on first.. I don’t know..THIRD BASE!)
By Eddie D., on March 23rd, 2009 This is just the first version for the iPhone… new features are ready or in the queue… let me know what features you’re looking for.. it’s an ongoing work-in-progress. Thanks to everyone for their help.

By Eddie D., on March 19th, 2009 Latest beta release has 3 stats leagues.. but NOW, thanks to the Baseball-Databank.org, we have the ability to create league files for every season from 1871… we successfully created the 2008 season files last night!
By Eddie D., on March 14th, 2009 Now waiting for an “approval” from Apple.. keep those cards and letters (and testers!) coming… this is just the FIRST release.. he’re the view with Wills on first:
Drysdale's pitching.. wills leading off of first!
